This year was an interesting one...
We all went to Amber's performance of "Where's Dracula" at 5:15.
Around 6, they got it started.
We got home around dark, and started getting our costumes on to go trick-or-treating.
We had plans, I tell you. We had blue hairspray to put blue dots on Pepper
(who's a dalmatian).
We tried. One "pshhhh" from the hairspray can and she started freaking
out. We spent a good bit of time
chasing her around, made her beautiful in spite of herself. Then we all loaded
up into the car. Lori, Amber, Jared, Me,
Don, Inca & Pepper. It was around 8. We were just out of the driveway
when we realized that Pepper
has a nervous bowel problem which was activated by being freaked out then
placed in a car with a bunch of
scary people. It was nasty. We turned around, ditched the dogs, cleaned the
back of the car, and headed back
out. By the time we reached the neighborhood where we normally go every year,
most everyone's porch lights
were off. On top of it all, there was a ball game of some sort happening at
the high school & a concert downtown...
We drove around until 9, looking for houses. We found three still happening.
We then decided that
our "make your own pizza" night should be postponed, and drove through
Arby's on the way home. We hadn't had
time to carve our pumpkins yet, so the kids ditched their costumes after "dinner"
and we spent the rest of the evening
enjoying that. I left my wig on because I was enjoying freaking Jared out.
